The 46th Annual Daytime Emmys honored the best achievements in soap operas, game shows, talk shows and more. The ceremony, hosted by Mario Lopez and Sheryl Underwood, was held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Burbank, California. It streamed live on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, emmyonline.tv, and through the KNEKT app on smart TVs and mobile devices.

“Days of Our Lives” came into these awards with the most nominations (27), but at the Creative Arts Awards it was “The Young and the Restless” that came out on top with five victories, while “Days” had three, “The Bold and the Beautiful” had two and “General Hospital” had just one. Did those winners prove to be prophetic? Perhaps, but in 2018 “Days” won Best Drama Series even after it was shut out at Creative Arts, so you can never be too sure.

Meanwhile, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “The Talk” were the most nominated talk shows with eight apiece. Both shows won three Creative Arts prizes, and on Sunday night they hoped to hold off “A Little Help with Carol Burnett” in the Best Entertainment Talk Show category.

“Giants” led the way among digital dramas with 11 bids, but “After Forever” stole its thunder at Creative Arts by winning four awards including victories for writing, directing and lead actor Kevin Spirtas. Amazon’s “The Bay” won Best Digital Drama Series for the last four years in a row, so both “Giants” and “Forever” were aiming to dethrone the defending champ.
